Do kids need prior running experience?
Nope! We work with everyone, from beginners just starting out to experienced racers.
What gear is required?
Just running shoes and a water bottle. A GPS watch is only required for the “Comprehensive Coaching” option, though it’s highly recommended for older or more advanced athletes.
Do we have to race?
Absolutely not, racing is completely optional and available to all tiers. We encourage it for those who are interested, but our main focus is on fun, growth, and fitness.
How does membership work?
Membership is month-to-month, no long-term commitment required. You can upgrade or change your membership level if your child wants to attend more or fewer practices (based on availability and system permissions).
How long are practices?
Practices typically last around 60-75 minutes.
What if my child misses a practice?
No problem! Kids are welcome to attend another session that week as a make-up, if space allows. Just give us a heads-up ahead of time.
Can we change our selected practice days?
Parents sign up for specific day/location combinations, and those remain consistent week to week. However, if your schedule changes, we’ll do our best to accommodate a switch—just reach out.
What age range is the club for?
Team FTC Kids is designed for elementary and middle schoolers (generally 2nd–8th grade), but feel free to contact us if you have a younger or older child who’s interested.
Where are practices held?
We meet at set locations across Gainesville that are selected for their safety, variety, and access to bathrooms. When signing up, you'll choose the day(s) and location that best fit your schedule.
Do parents need to stay during practice?
You’re welcome to stay and watch, but it’s not required. We’ll always have your emergency contact info on hand, and safety is a top priority.
